LAKELAND, Fla.—Southeastern controlled possession and rattled off 27 shots with 11 on goal in a 4-0 win over Florida Memorial Wednesday night.
The shutout win gave the Fire (4-2-1, 4-0-1) its fifth-straight game without allowing a goal.
On the attack, SEU did its part breaking through in the 11
th minute of play on
Makayla Peddycoart's second goal of the season on a pass from
Katie Carnes on the right wing to Peddycoart who was waiting at the top of the box.
Rebecca Laface made it 2-0 in the 41
st minute of play on a penalty kick for her first goal of the season after she was taken down in the box.
Carnes picked up her first goal of the season just three minutes into the second half when she won a ball in the box and worked her way back toward the top of the box and finished the shot to the right post.
The final tally of the game came when
Viktoria Lederer sent a ball to the right wing for
Ariadna Lozano who hammered it straight down off the crossbar and in for her second goal of the season. It was Lederer's team-leading third assist of the season.
Alaina Fountain made the only save of the night in goal for the Fire.
Southeastern will travel to Webber International on Saturday for a 3:30 p.m. kick.
