FOLEY, Ala.—Southeastern fell to 0-2 on the season with their second loss to a Top 10 team, falling 5-1 to No. 3 William Carey Sunday afternoon.
Madelyn Davidson's first goal of the season off a pass from
Evelina Von Euler gave the Fire a 1-0 lead in the 21st minute of play.
William Carey (6-0) picked up a goal in the 40th minute, then scored as the half was expiring to take a 2-1 lead into halftime.
The Crusaders carried that momentum into the second half to outshoot the Fire 12-4 in the second 45 minutes, putting half of those on frame. Goals in the 64
th and 77
th minute, along with one just before time ran out gave WCU the win.
Micaela Owen made six saves in the contest.
The Fire will head to Ave Maria on Wednesday to open Sun Conference play.
