KANSAS CITY, Mo.- In the final installment of the 2023 NAIA Softball Top 25 Coaches Poll, Southeastern softball fell three spots to No. 20.
The Fire concluded the regular season with a 31-14 overall record and 19-5 conference record with six of those wins coming over other NAIA Top 25 teams, most notably a 4-1 win over now ranked No. 3 University of the Cumberlands.
Collectively, the Fire hold a batting average of .305, averaging 4.6 runs per contest.
Chapel Cunningham and
Leah Gonzalez have been large parts of the Fire's success offensively this season, both tallying a team-high 55 hits. Gonzalez holds a current .387 average and 33 RBI's, both which lead the Fire, while Cunningham leads the conference in stolen bases with 32.
Erica Stahl has been the most successful in the power numbers, posting a .550 slugging percentage behind 12 doubles and four home runs.
Autumn Hunter holds a staff-low ERA of 1.97 through 106.2 innings while
Claire Sekinger has struck out 147 batters in 142 innings.
Kenzie Forrester holds a 2.16 ERA through 55 innings and has held opponents to a .286 average.
Southeastern will next head into their conference tournament beginning tomorrow as they search for the first tournament championship in program history.
