LAKELAND, Fla.—Less than 24 hours after belting 12 home runs in 14 innings, the Fire were held to just one during their Sun Conference series finale against Webber International.
The lone homer came at the perfect time, on the last swing of the game to give Southeastern a 3-2 win over the Warriors to sweep the series and improve to 30-1 on the year.
Trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the ninth,
Nick Winkelmeyer singled between third base and shortstop to lead off the inning.
Josh Pigozzo drove a 1-2 pitch over the center field wall to end the game.
Danny Batcher was stellar on the mound for the Fire, going 5.2 innings without surrendering a hit and retiring 15 in a row until allowing back-to-back doubles to tie the game at one in the sixth.
Juan Pimentel came in to get the final out of the inning with two on.
Another double in the eighth gave the Warriors their first lead of the game.

Gary Lora hit a ball that ricocheted off third base and scored
Isaac Nunez. Lora had two of SEU's seven hits on the afternoon.
Reece Wissinger earned the win, striking out six over three innings of work, allowing one run on two hits with four walks.
Southeastern will play its next six games on the road in The Sun Conference, starting with a doubleheader Friday at Warner.
