MIAMI, Fla.—Following the completion of The Sun Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, Southeastern picked up a few more awards.
Joseph Taylor was named the most outstanding performer on the men's side, and Nick Dodson was both the men's and women's coach of the year.
Taylor scored 27.5 points to help the Fire win their third straight men's title. He was the champion in the 200 Meters and 400 Meters, and ran the anchor leg of the victorious 4x400 Relay team. The New Orleans native added a sixth-place finish in the Long Jump and was seventh in the 60 Meter Dash.
Dodson led the Fire to their third consecutive sweep of the men's and women's indoor titles last Monday with the women's team racking up 266 points and the men's team 282 points.
The Fire will compete three times this week in last chance qualifiers before indoor nationals next month.
