GREAT FALLS, Mont.—Three of the five Fire wrestlers that competed in the Battle of the Rockies reached the final on Saturday.
The 141-pound final was an all-SEU affair with
Kael Brisker taking the title over
Joseph Kindred. Brisker racked up 20 team points with two majors and two technical falls and scored a total of 70 match points. Kindred won a pair of major decisions in the quarterfinal and semifinal matches and was a 9-4 winner in his first-round match.
Karter Johnson was the runner-up at 174 with a loss in the final by second period fall after winning the semifinal by pin with just 10 seconds remaining.
Noah Gallardo placed sixth at 184, winning twice in the wrestlebacks after a 4-2 loss to No. 15 Rylin Burns in the quarterfinals.
The Fire will turn their attention to Brewton-Parker for their first home dual of the season on December 13
th at 7 p.m.
