LAKELAND, Fla.- Southeastern men's basketball begins their second week of competitions with three games this week.

The receiving votes Fire will host Johnson University-Florida today at 7 p.m. and end the week in Marietta, Ga. as they take on receiving votes Life University at 6 p.m. on Friday and Point University at 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Southeastern went 1-1 on opening week with a win over No. 22 University of Mobile and loss to receiving votes Faulkner University.

Over their first two contests, the Fire averaged 67 points per game behind a .434 field goal percentage and .344 three-point percentage. Defensively, they average 35 rebounds and five steals per game.

Makai Vassell has led the offense thus far for the Fire, averaging 19 points per game with a .560 field goal percentage. Vassell also leads the rebounding efforts with seven per game.
Joshua Blazquez has averaged 18.5 points per game, shooting .467 from the field and going 5-10 from three-point range.

The Suns of Johnson University-Florida begin their season with an 0-3 record with their last contest coming against Campbellsville University Harrodsburg where they shot .435 from the field and .4438 from three-point range. Over three contests, the Suns have averaged 62.7 points per game.

The Fire hold a 15-0 historical record over the Suns including a 98-52 win last season.

Life University has gone 4-0 to begin their season, averaging 80.5 points per game with a .448 field goal percentage. Nathan Presnell has averaged 18.3 points per game, going 32-48 from the field (66.7%) while also posting a team-best 9.3 rebounds per game.

The Running Eagles advanced to the NAIA National Tournament last season, ending up in the Fire's NAIA Opening Round in Lakeland.

Point University currently sits at 3-1 with a loss to Cumberland (Tenn.) in their last contest. The Eagles average 78.5 points per game with a .485 field goal percentage and .390 three-point percentage. Jacob Crockett leads the offense with 13.5 points per game behind a 13-27 (48.1%) effort from three-point range. Defensively, Joshua Scott averages six rebounds per game.

Southeastern holds a 19-5 historical record over the Eagles, taking a narrow 84-82 win in their last meeting which came back in the 2015 season.
