MIAMI GARDENS, Fla.—Southeastern will look to put an end to its current two-game slide when it heads to St. Thomas this afternoon to take on the Bobcats at noon.
Today's game will be the second Top 25 team in three weeks and third of the season that Southeastern will face; all on the road.
Last week, the Fire ended up on the short side of a back-and-forth contest against Florida Memorial, 35-24. Southeastern had a 10-7 and 24-20 advantage during the contest, but were unable to come up with the necessary stops in the fourth quarter.
St. Thomas is fifth in the NAIA in touchdowns this season with 52 and average 44 points per game, which is fourth in the NAIA. Rontavious Farmer is second in the NAIA in rushing at 131.9 yards per game. The three losses by the Bobcats are at FCS Stetson by one, at No. 15 Carroll by three, and at No. 9 Keiser by seven.
This will be the seventh meeting between the two teams with the Fire holding the series lead with four wins. St. Thomas won both meetings last year with a 34-14 win in Miami Gardens and a 20-13 win at Victory Field.
