FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga.—Southeastern had a successful weekend at the Georgia Open with four wrestlers placing in the top three of their brackets and plenty of wins across the board.
Sal Silva was the 157-pound champion winning all four of his matches by bonus points and racking up 53 match points. His victory in the championship over Emmanuel's Gage Shetley was a 16-0 technical fall.
John Roberts was the runner-up at 184, scoring a pair of technical falls and a pin to reach the semis where he won 14-7.
Noah Winder was the runner-up at 285 after a win in sudden victory in the semifinal round over Matthew Jimenez of Lander.
Caleb Hardeman was seventh at 285.
Max Kauffman was third at 149, winning by major decision in the placement match over Tyler Garrett of Reinhardt.
Trace Braun advanced to the semifinal at 165 with two pins in his first three matches.
At 125,
Nathan Gregory placed fifth with a pair of technical falls in his first two matches and
Blaine Jones won three matches and placed eighth.
Bruno Ingalls was eighth at 184.
Gentry Smith won five matches at 197 as did
Ralph Sanchez.
Drew Jones won four matches in the wrestlebacks at 141 but came up just short of placing.
The Fire will head to Reinhardt on Friday for their next dual.
