AVE MARIA, Fla.- The Southeastern University volleyball team fell to 5-9 and 1-2 in Sun Conference play tonight with a 3-0 loss to Ave Maria University.

Set one saw the Gyrenes jump out to a 6-0 lead, holding and advancing that lead for the remainder of the set. The Gyrenes hit a collective .346 in set one with 13 kills while the Fire hit .241 with 12 kills, lending the Gyrenes the 25-18 victory.

Set two would end with the same score after attack errors by the Fire would give away the second set. Ave Maria recorded a solid .324 hitting percentage with the Fire handing away nine points off errors.

The errors would continue to plague the Fire down 2-0 with 12 attack errors compared to the Gyrenes one as they claimed the final set 25-9.

Baylee Warneke and
Kennedy Jones ended the night with seven kills each with
Ryanne VanWyk registering 14 assists.
Holly Kaczmarek concluded the contest with 14 digs.

The Fire will look to bounce back on Saturday with a 2 p.m. home contest against Florida Memorial.
