KANSAS CITY, Mo.—Southeastern had four baseball players named to the NAIA All-America Teams, released this afternoon by the national office. Additionally, for just the second time in program history Southeastern boasted the NAIA's Pitcher of the Year.
First-Team honors went to juniors
Robb Adams and
Gary Lora, and second-team honors were awarded to seniors
Brian Fuentes and
Abdel Guadalupe.
Adams and Lora are the seventh and eighth players in program history named to the first team. This also marks the fifth-consecutive year the Fire have had a first team selection.
Adams, a left-handed pitcher from Arcadia, Fla. was named the Pitcher of the year after ending the season tied for the NAIA lead in wins this season with 14 working an NAIA-best 113.2 innings and posted a 2.45 ERA. His 133 strikeouts were the eighth-most nationally this season.
Lora, a designated hitter from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic posted a .388 batting average with 20 home runs, 67 RBIs, and a .454 on-base percentage. He was the team co-leader in hits this season with 94.
Fuentes, a senior from Caracas, Venezuela was the team leader in batting average at .418 and set a new program record for home runs in a season with 25. He posted 94 hits, 89 RBIs, and added 15 doubles.
Guadalupe, a senior from Fajardo, Puerto Rico hit .387 with 19 home runs and 60 RBIs. He also drew 32 walks to help post a .479 on-base percentage.
Southeastern posted a 59-4 record during the 2022 season and won the Avista NAIA World Series for the second time in program history.
