Four Earn All-Tournament Honors; Faith Named Tournament MVP

LAKELAND, Fla.- After securing their second consecutive Sun Conference Tournament Championship this weekend, the Southeastern University Fire placed four members on the SUN All-Tournament team in Stephen Cullen, Drew Gillespie, Brian Fuentes, and Sam Faith who was also named the SUN Tournament MVP.
 
Faith was voted the tournament MVP after posting a .563 average through the four contests with nine hits, five runs scored, four RBI's and an on base percentage of .611.
 
Cullen concluded the tournament with a .462 average behind six hits, six RBI's, two doubles, and a home run including a two-out, two-RBI double in Sunday's championship game to give the Fire their first lead of the contest. The first baseman was also perfect in the field through 52 chances.
 
Fuentes posted a .368 average with seven hits, five RBI's, and a home run to conclude the four games with a .737 slugging percentage and recorded a perfect fielding percentage on defense.
 
On the mound, Gillespie tossed a complete game against Warner University in the Fire's second contest of the tournament, allowing just one run on five hits while striking out seven.
 
The No. 1 ranked Fire will now await the announcement of their destination for the NAIA Opening Round.
