LAKELAND, Fla.- In game one of the three-game Sun Conference series between No. 20 Southeastern University and Warner University, the Fire took the 1-0 victory to advance to 13-3 in conference play and 29-7 overall.
The pitching duel of game one was decided by an RBI single by
Jamie Mead in the third inning after
Riley Sanders led off the inning with a single, moved herself to third off of two stolen bases, and scored on the Mead single into center.
Claire Sekinger advanced to 12-2 on the season and tossed her ninth complete game and seventh shutout with six strikeouts.
Games two and three of the series will take place tomorrow at 1 and 3 p.m.
