Softball Drops Series Opener to Thomas on the Road

THOMASVILLE, Ga.- The No. 21 Southeastern University Fire softball team struggled to move runners in its series opener on the road versus the RV Thomas University Night Hawks, falling by a final score of 5-0.

SEU was 0-7 at the plate with runners in scoring position on the day, stranding five in those opportune scenarios.

After getting once across in the bottom of the first, the Night Hawks sat on a 1-0 lead for three innings before tacking one another in the bottom of the fourth and three more in the bottom of the fifth.

Fire sophomore Autumn Hunter fell to 7-3 on the season after conceding three earned runs over 4.2 innings tossed and striking out two.

Southeastern graduate infielder Jamie Mead was 2-3 at the plate.

With the loss, the Fire saw their program-record 13-game win streak come to a halt.

The Fire look to start a new win streak tomorrow with a doubleheader versus the Night Hawks. Game times in Thomasville are scheduled for 12:00 and 2:00 .m.
