Adrian Dinkel reached another career milestone on Sunday afternoon in Thomasville. The Fire resumed game two of the series versus the Thomas University Night Hawks and closed out the game with a 10-0 win before topping Thomas 8-5 in the series finale to earn Coach Dinkel his 500th collegiate career head coaching win.

Drew Gillespie retook the mound for seu after pitching three scoreless on Friday. Gillespie was extremely efficient, sitting down all six batters he faced today with four strikeouts during that stretch. Gillespie earned the winning decision with seven total punch outs in the start.

Sam Faith belted his second home run of the season in the top of the sixth, a solo shot in the top of the eighth. to grow the Fire lead to 9-0. The Fire brought the run-rule scenario into effect with back-to-back RBI singles in the top of the ninth by

GAME THREE: No. 1 Southeastern 8 Thomas 5
The Fire plated six of their eight runs in the first inning on four hits. Lora put the Fire on the board with an RBI-double to left-center that scored

Abdel Guadalupe capped off the big inning with the other RBI-base hit of the frame with a two-RBI single to left field to make it 6-0 Fire. Thomas got two back in the bottom of the first to trim the deficit to 6-2.

Eston Stull struck out two of the three he faced in the bottom of the third to preserve the 6-2 SEU lead.
The Night Hawks got three across in the bottom of the fourth to make it a one-run game at 6-5.
Fire graduate righty
Logan Walters was dynamic in relief during the middle innings for SEU. Walters tossed scoreless fifth and sixth frames, striking out five of the six batters he faced with all six sat down in order. Walters earned the winning decision to improve to 3-0 on the season.
SEU got an insurance run in the top of the fifth off a
Sam Faith sacrifice fly and another in the top of the sixth on a wild pitch to create some breathing room versus the Night Hawks with an 8-5 lead.
Fire senior closer DJ Roberts earned his second save of the season by tossing a scoreless eighth and ninth frame, allowing just one hit and striking out one.
Southeastern hosts No. 25 Warner University next weekend for another Sun Conference series. The Fire and the Royals will battle in a Friday doubleheader with game times scheduled for 3:00 and 6:00 p.m.
