Baseball Heads to Thomasville to Continue SUN Play

LAKELAND, Fla.- The No. 1 Southeastern University Fire baseball team is on the road to resume Sun Conference play for a weekend series versus the Thomas University Night Hawks in Thomasville.

FIRE FOCUS:
-After achieving the best start in program history at 26-0, the Fire are looking to bounce back after suffering their first loss of the season, an 11-8 defeat by Indiana Tech on March 10.
-At the plate, the SEU offense is hitting .376 this year with 57 doubles, seven triples, and 55 home runs. The Fire are averaging 10.7 runs scored and 12 hits per game.
-Over his last seven games, senior outfielder Abdel Guadalupe is belting a ridiculous .655 clip (19-29) with seven home runs and 10 RBIs.
-On the mound, the Fire pitching staff has posted a 2.86 Earned Run Average with 340 strikeouts in 220 innings pitched. Opposing bats are hitting .230 off Fire arms this season.
-SEU junior lefty Robb Adams is 6-0 and has an astounding 0.24 ERA with 58 strikeouts in 37 innings tossed this year.

-Southeastern leads the all-time series versus Thomas 33-15.
-The Fire have won 16 of the last 17, including six-straight in the rivalry.
The last time TU defeated SEU was in The Sun Conference Tournament 4-3 on May 2, 2019.
 
THE NIGHT HAWKS
-Thomas is looking to snap a three-game skid and pick up its first SUN win of the season after getting swept by both Keiser and St. Thomas.
-At the plate, the Night Hawks are hitting .294 as a team and are averaging 6.4 runs scored and 9.5 hits per game.
-Redshirt freshman infielder Cameron Rosario is hitting a team-high .413 with nine RBIs and is tied for the team lead in stolen bases at eight.
-On the mound, the TU pitching staff has posted a 5.46 ERA with 191 strikeouts in 196.1 innings compiled.
-6-4 freshman right-handed reliever Zachary Buelk has snagged a team-high three wins out of seven bullpen appearances for Thomas this season, The Wesley Chapel native has fanned 12 batters in 11 innings pitched.
