LAKELAND, Fla.- After a six-day hiatus, the No. 3 Southeastern University Fire baseball team still looked dialed in with a doubleheader sweep of the Cornerstone University Golden Eagles. The Fire took game one 13-4 before rolling to a 16-3 victory in the second contest.
GAME ONE:
SEU senior infielder
Brian Fuentes was electric at the plate for Southeastern, going 3-3 with a walk, five RBIs, and a grand slam home run. Southeastern senior catcher
Luis Cabrera was 2-3 at the plate with four runs batted in.
Leading the Golden Eagles 4-1 entering the bottom of the fifth, the Fire plated five runs on five hits to open things up to a 9-1 SEU advantage.

Robb Adams improved to 5-0 on the season after tossing two no-hit innings on the staff day, striking out five of the seven batters he faced.
GAME TWO:
The Fire plated 16 runs on 11 hits and capitalized on six errors committed by Cornerstone.

Gary Lora helped open the contest up early for SEU, belting his NAIA-leading 10th home run of the season on a grand slam in the bottom of the second to grow the Southeastern lead to 7-1.

Jose Marcano was 2-3 at the plate in game two with two RBIs, including an RBI-triple in the bottom of the sixth.
Drew Gillespie earned the win on the second staffed contest of the day after striking out three over two innings in his start.
The Fire are back in action tomorrow at Ted A. Broer Stadium, as they host the Roosevelt University Lakers in a single-game. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
