LAKELAND, Fla.- The No. 19 Southeastern University Fire women's tennis team fell to 3-2 on the season, including 1-1 in Sun Conference play, with a 7-0 loss to the No. 2 and 2021 NAIA National Runner-Up Keiser University Seahawks.
The Fire were swept by the Seahawks in doubles' play, although the Fire pushed lines one and two deeper. Ultimately, the Seahawks captured both of those lines by scores of 6-4 to take a 1-0 lead over SEU heading into singles' action.
SEU dropped all six lines of singles' play in straight sets. The Fire took three or more games in five of the 12 sets played.
The SEU women look to bounce back next Saturday at home in another SUN contest. The Fire host the RV St. Thomas University Bobcats at the Beerman Family Tennis Complex at 1:00 p.m.
