AVE MARIA, Fla.—The 18
th-ranked Southeastern men's tennis team dropped its first Sun Conference match of the year at No. 21 Ave Maria, 5-2.
Ave Maria swept the doubles competition to take a 1-0 lead and also won at the top two singles lines.
The lone points for the Fire came in a three-set win by
Diego Menendez at Line 4 singles, winning the second and third sets by the score of 7-5, and a retirement in the second set for
Federico Barbon at No. 3 Singles.
The Fire will embark on a three-match trip to Georgia beginning Monday at Abraham-Baldwin.
