Women’s Soccer Records First Sun Conference Win

PEMBROKE PINES, Fla.—Eleven different players found the back of the net in a 14-0 win over Florida Memorial for Southeastern in its Sun Conference Opener.
 
The win brought the Fire to 7-1-1 on the season.
 
Senior Naira Lopez helped get SEU to a 4-0 lead in the first 16 minutes of the game, chipping a ball from 30 yards out just 10 second into the match, then found Chanel Garcia for a header off a corner kick, then did the same for Jennifer Luna. Lopez then scored her ninth goal of the season, finishing a ball from Karissa King.
 
Makayla Peddycoart scored her first goal of the season, lobbing in a shot from well outside the box just nine seconds into her shift. Katie Carnes made it 6-0 in the 25th minute on her first goal of the season. Ariadna Lozano set up Madelyn Davidson's second goal of the season in the 33rd minute, and Fiona Baran picked up her first collegiate goal on a penalty kick in the 37th minute.
 
Peyton Fitzherbert recorded her first collegiate goal just over three minutes into the second half, finishing a deflection during a corner kick. Mason Schilling scored her first of two goals on the night in the 53rd minute finishing a pass from Mashell Rodriguez.
 
Ellie Unzueta picked up her first collegiate goal in the 55th minute and Schilling picked up her second goal of the night in the 58th minute. Fitzherbert added her second goal of the game in the 67th, finishing a pass from Schilling to complete her five-point night.
 
Victoria Moran's first goal of the season finished out the scoring in the 76th minute.
 
The Fire racked up 25 shots on goal and held the Lions without a shot.
 
Southeastern returns to action on Saturday in a rematch of last year's conference championship game against St. Thomas.
