Two Home Contests for Men's Soccer this Week

LAKELAND, Fla.- After opening Sun Conference play last week with a 1-1 tie against St. Thomas University to move their overall record to 4-2-3, the Southeastern men's soccer team will host two home games this week with a 7 p.m. Wednesday contest against No. 14 Florida National and a 7 p.m. Saturday contest against Sun Conference opponent SCAD-Savannah.
 
Collectively, the Fire offense has outscored their opponents 31-14 behind 20 shots and 3.4 goals per contest. Edoardo Venutolo has been the leading goal scorer for the Fire with five goals while Lucas Nishioka has been a part of six goals with four assists and two goals through six starts.
 
In goal, Jonathan Wojciki and Carlos Curado have split time with Wojciki collecting a 2-2-1 record and .593 save percentage while Curado has earned a 2-0-2 record with seven saves and three goals allowed.
 
The Bees of SCAD-Savannah come into the week with a 3-6 overall record and 1-1 SUN record and have been outscored by their competitors 22-13 with an average of 13 shots per game and a .487 shot on goal percentage. James Holmes has done most of the offensive work for the Bees, recording seven of their 13 goals and an assist.
 
Connor Friel has seen the most time between the posts, collecting a 2-3 record and 25 saves on 43 shots faced.
 
The No. 14 ranked Conquistadors begin the week with a 7-0-2 record and have tied their last two contests with a 0-0 score against No. 6 St. Thomas University and 3-3 tie against Johnson University of Florida.
 
Through nine games, the Conquistadors have netted 25 goals for an average of 2.8 goals per game nearly 20 shots per contest which ranks 10th in the NAIA. The 25 goals have been spread throughout the Conquistador lineup with nine individuals all registering two goals. Santiago Leaniz and Pedro Navarro have both recorded a team-leading six points with two goals and two assists each.
 
With nearly 500 minutes in goal, Victor Ruiz has accumulated a 3-0-2 record with 17 saves and just five goals allowed.
