LAKELAND, Fla- In the hard fought, high emotion contest between Sun Conference opponents, the St. Thomas University Bobcats and the Southeastern University Fire, the Fire came out on top with a 91-85 victory to advance to 15-3 on the season and 6-1 in conference play.

The evenly matched contest saw the Bobcats take a five point lead two minutes into the contest but four consecutive three pointers by the Fire four minutes into the contest would give them the lead with that would hold for the remainder of the night. The Fire would go on to nail eight shots from distance in the first half for a 53% three point percentage with the first twenty minutes ending with a 48-43 lead.
Devon Ford led the Fire scoring in the first half with 12 points after going 6-7 from the field while the team finished with a 58% field goal percentage.

The second half lent the Fire their largest lead of the contest after two early three pointers by
Jordan Gorman put the Fire up 59-45 with 17 minutes still left to play. The Bobcats continued to battle and managed to bring the score within two with 7:17 on the clock but the comeback would fall short as the Fire maintained control and secured the 91-85 lead after two made free throws from
Sean Shore.
Riley Minix had a strong second half performance after putting up 16 points and four rebounds as the team ended the second half shooting 50% from the field.

Minix ended the night with a double-double after 23 points and 10 rebounds while Ford was the Fire's second leading scorer with a career high 21 points and five rebounds. Gorman ended the night with 15 points as the Fire ended with a 58.8% field goal percentage and 44.8% three point percentage.
