LAKELAND, Fla.- The No. 3 Southeastern University Fire baseball team shut out the RV Columbia International University Rams 5-0 in the series final to finalize the Opening Weekend series sweep.

Gary Lora picked up where he left off yesterday, catapulting the Fire offense with an RBI-single to right field in the bottom of the third to score

Luis Cabrera followed up Lora in the next at-bat with a two-RBI double that brought
Brian Fuentes and Lora across the plate and earned the Fire a 3-0 advantage.
Senior Fire right-handed starting pitcher
Juan Pimentel was electric on the mound for Southeastern, sitting down six-straight Rams during a stretch from the top of the third to the top of the fifth. Pimentel finished the day with just two hits allowed, no runs, and no walks on 83 pitches and six innings pitched while striking out eight.

Senior right-handed Fire reliever DJ Roberts needed just 22 pitches to work through two perfect innings in the top of the seventh and eighth frames. Roberts struck out four of the six batters he faced.

Ronnie Voacolo, who pitched a scoreless inning in the top of the ninth to punctuate the Fire victory.
The Fire are back in action at Ted A. Broer Stadium this upcoming Wednesday in a non-conference doubleheader versus the University of Ft. Lauderdale Eagles. Game times are scheduled for 2:00 and 4:30 p.m.
