BRUNSWICK, Ga.- The No. 21 Southeastern University men's tennis team scored arguably the most monumental victory in program victory Thursday afternoon; and they are not done yet. The Fire defeated the No. 17 St. Thomas University Bobcats 4-1 in The Sun Conference Tournament Semifinals to advance to the TSC Final for the first time in program history.
The Fire set the tone in doubles' play, starting with the duo of seniors
Omar Fiorenzato and Alexandre D'Aboville, who made quick work of their opponents at top line doubles 6-1 to win their second-consecutive doubles' match on the season.

Theodor Preiswerk clinched the doubles' point for SEU with a 6-3 victory at the second line. The win was their third-straight on the season and improved the pairing to 7-3 on the season at line two.

Barbosa won his fifth-straight match of the season at line five singles' with a two-set handling of his Bobcat adversary. Felipe improved to 8-2 on the year at the fifth position with the victory and put Southeastern ahead of St. Thomas 2-0.
After the Bobcats trimmed the deficit to 2-1 with a two-set win at line three, the Fire saw many matches come down to crunch time. Singles' lines one, two, four, and six all went to a third set.
After dropping the opening set 6-0, senior
Tyler Glowaki responded with a pair of 6-2 victories in the second and third sets to put the Fire up on the Bobcats 3-1. The victory was Glowaki's sixth-straight at line six and improved his record at the position to 6-2 this season.
After dropping taking the first set 6-3 and dropping the second set 6-2, senior Alexandre D'Aboville battled in set three at line four to come away with a 6-3 win and cement the victory for the Fire 4-1. D'Aboville improved to 8-2 this year at line four with the triumph.
"Competing in the finals of our conference tournament was a goal we had, and we cannot wait to play in it tomorrow," commented Coach Dickens.
The Fire will compete in The Sun Conference Tournament Final versus the top-seeded Keiser University Seahawks tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m. in Brunswick.
