Baseball Faces Seahawks in Three Game Weekend Series

Lakeland, Fla.- The 29-3 Southeastern University baseball team will host the No. 8 Keiser University Seahawks in a three-game weekend series starting with a doubleheader on Friday, April 2^nd at 2:00 and 5:00 p.m. followed by game three of the series on Saturday at 12:00 p.m.
 
The Fire are coming off of a four game series with Freed-Hardeman University where the Fire took three out of the four games while also dropping their third loss of the season.
 
Offensively, the Fire have been stellar through their 32 games as they rank third in the nation in many offensive categories such as home runs per game (2.13), runs batted in per game (9.22), total runs scored (326), and total runs batted in (295). Sam Faith captains the offense with a .429 average, nine homeruns, and 39 RBI's.
 
The pitching staff for the Fire has also put up eye catching numbers as they currently rank number one in the nation in total batters struck out with 349. Christian Camacho has been the go to guy for the Fire throwing a team high 50.2 innings and recording a perfect 5-0 record with a 3.73 ERA and 59 strikeouts.
 
The Seahawks come into the weekend series ranked number eight in the nation and a 28-6 record. KU has also put up impressive offensive numbers thus far as they rank number one in the nation in total runs batted in (313), number two in total hits (397), total runs scored (347), total triples (17). and total at bats (1140). Matthew Catalfo has registered a team high .433 average, five homeruns, and 45 RBI's.
 
As a staff, the Seahawks have recorded a 3.56 ERA with 278 strikeouts and an opposing batting average of .243.
 
The Fire and the Seahawks have not faced off since the 2019 season when the Fire came out with a series victory after taking two of the three games.
