LAKELAND, Fla.- After going 6-0 during a full slate of non-conference games last week, the No. 1 Southeastern University baseball team slows down the pace this week with just a single game on the docket. The Fire host the NCAA Division II Saginaw Valley State University Cardinals in a single, nine-inning contest on Saturday afternoon.

-Offensively, senior infielder
Pedro Castellano led the way for the Fire at the plate. The Davenport native hit .583 at the plate including a four-game home run streak during the week.
-On the mound, senior right-handed reliever
Brenden Heiss was named The Sun Conference Pitcher of the Week, after earning two winning decisions in relief versus Ave Maria and Point Park. All in all, Heiss tossed three innings, allowed just one unearned run, and struck out four.
-The Fire are in the upper echelon in numerous NAIA national offensive rankings, including first in runs batted in (186), second in total hits (225) and runs scored (204), sixth in home runs per game (2), and ninth in runs scored per game (9.714).
-Pitching-wise, SEU ranks second nationally in total batters struck out (223), 12th in opponent batting average (.209), and 13th in team Earned Run Average (3.07).
-The sixth inning has been the most dominant for the Fire this season, where they have outscored opponents/ on total 39-7.
-The Fire are 126-14 (.900) all-time at home under head coach
Adrian Dinkel and are currently riding a 35-game home win streak.
