Fire Prevail in Overtime Against Middle Georgia

LAKELAND, Fla—The Southeastern University women's soccer team prevailed in overtime against Middle Georgia State to win their 15th game of the season 1-0.

In the 94th minute Aisha Solorzano took the through ball from Hanna Ryberg and found Naira Lopez right in front of the net for the game-winning goal.

SEU created numerous opportunities throughout the match as they fired off 25 shots, but Middle Georgia goalkeeper Noemy Franco kept the Fire off the board with ten saves.

Southeastern held the edge in nearly every statistical category with their 25 shots, 11 of those on goal, and 12 corner kicks.

The Fire defense held the Middle Georgia Knights at bay and allowed only two shots, both of which were saved by Fire goalie Holly Eddins.

Southeastern (15-1-1) will have plenty of time to prepare for the University of Tampa with their match scheduled for Sunday, March 21st at 5:00 pm.
