LAKELAND, Fla.—Southeastern put its shooting struggles from last week to rest by connecting on 13 3-pointers in a 93-47 victory over Warner to move to 5-0 in Sun Conference play and 9-1 overall.
The Fire got off to a quick start, connecting on four 3-pointers in the first quarter to take a 24-7 lead after 10 minutes of play. Additionally, the Fire forced 12 Warner turnovers.
By halftime, Southeastern held a 25-point lead after holding the Royals to just seven made field goals in the first 20 minutes.
During the third quarter, the Warner offense got going shooting 6-of-10 from the field and 4-of-5 from long range but the Fire were able to keep pace with a 10-of-24 effort from the field and connected on five more 3-pointers to lead by as much as 31 with 3:46 left in the period.
SEU ended the game on a 21-5 run, limiting the Royals to just two made field goals and forced seven more turnovers.
All five starters finished the game in double figures and leading the way with 17 points off the bench was
Gabby Suarez.
Raegan Linster added 16 points, going 4-of-11 from long range with five rebounds.
Marta Aranda had 14 points with four assists and four steals.
Rebecca Cook led the rebounding effort with seven and added 13 points and five steals before fouling out.
Angela Perry added 12 points and
Tahanee Bennell filled up the stat sheet with 10 points, eight assists, six steals, and five rebounds.
The Fire are back in action on Friday at Loyola-New Orleans.
