LAKELAND,Fla.- The No.9 Southeastern University women's soccer team came back from behind to score five unanswered goals against the USCB Sand Sharks and win 5-1. The Fire improved to 11-3 on the season and 5-2 in Sun Conference play.
SEU dominated offensively, outshooting the Sand Sharks 19-4, with ten of those being on frame.
After UCSB's lone goal in the 11th minute, Southeastern responded by netting three goals before the half. Hannah Ryberg scored in the 19th minute with an assist coming in from Shara Randez. Randez then responded with a goal of her own in the 28th minute. Victoria Moran netted the Fire's third goal in the half in the 35th minute from a ball coming in from Aisha Solorzano.
In the second half, Southeastern added two more goals with one racing in with less than ten seconds remaining. Chloe Martin honed in a goal in the 81st minute with an assist from Ciara Boal and another goal by Mashell Rodriguez in the 89th minute, assisted by Moran.
The Fire are right back into Sun Conference play this week Thursday, October 28th for Senior Night at 7 P.M. at the SEU Soccer Complex.
