LAKELAND, Fla.- The Southeastern University volleyball team got off to a solid start, but ultimately came up short, falling 3-1 to the Warner University Royals to drop their fourth-straight contest.
The Fire bested the Royals 28-26 in a back-and-forth first set. Junior
Jordyn Stiger turned in another excellent overall performance for SEU, recording eight of her single-game career-high 13 kills in the first set. Stiger eclipsed her career best mark of 11 kills she set last Wednesday night versus Coastal Georgia.
SEU had ample opportunities to take a 2-0 lead in the match, After trailing 13-9 in the second set, the Fire went on a 10-5 run to take the lead 19-18. The Fire went on to have five set points in the match, of which the Royals fended off each of them. Warner battled back to win the second set 29-27.
After the Royals took a 5-4 lead in the third set, Warner never trailed Southeastern again in the set, going on to take a 2-1 lead in the match after a 25-22 result in set three.
The Fire committed five attack and four service errors in the fourth set, which made it difficult to find the equalizer against a Royals' squad who hit a match-best .324 in the fourth set. SEU dropped the final set 25-21.

Maggie Seagren finished with 10 kills and 11 digs for SEU. Junior
Fabianne Besosa led all players with 25 digs.
SEU looks to bounce back this Saturday, as they head to West Palm Beach to take on the Keiser University Seahawks. Match time is set for 12:00 p.m.Â
