LAKELAND, Fla.—Even after conceding its first goal in 277 minutes, the Southeastern women's soccer team cranked up the offensive pressure and came away with a 9-1 win four their fourth win in as many games.
Senior
Aisha Solorzano broke a 1-1 tie with her third goal of the season in the 16
th minute of play, then followed with goals in the 56
th and 60
th minutes for her first career hat trick. Her third came on a breakaway down the middle of the field and buried the shot far post.
Solorzano also added a goal in the 84
th minute to complete her eight-point night.
In the 69
th minute
Jennifer Luna blasted a ball from near midfield just over the keeper's head for her second goal of the season.
Naira Lopez picked up her seventh goal of the season in the 73 minute on a volley from the right side. She also assisted on Solorzano's first two goals.
In the 75
th minute, junior defender
Gabriela Labrador recorded her second career goal and first of the season on a corner kick.
Mashell Rodriguez, who scored the game's first goal on a penalty kick in the seventh minute picked up her second of the year in the 82
nd minute, finishing a ball from
Kristal Pesina and
Brianna Luna.
The Fire return to Sun Conference play on Wednesday with a 1 p.m. start in Babson Park against Webber International.
