AVE MARIA, Fla.—Southeastern couldn't get its offense going in a 3-0 loss at Ave Maria Wednesday night to drop to 1-3 on the season.
Seven service errors and 19 attacking errors were a big part of the issues.
Southeastern dropped the first two sets by the score of 25-12 before trying to get back on track in the third set. The set was tied at eight and AMU rattled off three consecutive points. The Fire got back within one at three different points, but the Gyrenes were able to close out the match with a 25-20 win.
Maggie Seagren had a team-best seven kills, and helped out on defense with six digs.
Emily Eurice added 12 assists.
Fabianne Besosa led the back row with eight digs.
The Fire are back in action next Wednesday at home against Coastal Georgia.
