FIRE FOCUS:
  • The Fire are making their fifth overall and third-straight appearance in the NAIA Baseball Opening Round. SEU is 7-6 all-time in the Opening Round.
  • SEU earned a top seed via an at-large bid after posting a 48-10 record, capturing its first Sun Conference Regular Season Championship in program history, and being ranked No. 1 in every installment of the NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll this season.
  • SEU currently leads the NAIA in five offensive categories including Total Doubles (152), Team Batting Average (.354), and Runs Scored (557).
  • The Fire offensive lineup features an arsenal of power, as five players have smashed 10 or more home runs, with a team total of 97 homers on the year. The team mark for long balls has already set a new single-season program record.
  • Senior outfielder Manuel Mesa is one hit away from tying the single-season program record for hits and six bases away from tying the single-season program record for total bases
  • The 2019 SEU pitching staff ranks third in the NAIA in Total Batters Struck Out (488), sixth in Team ERA (3.36), and 14th in Opponent Batting Average (.235).
  • The Fire are 20-2 when top senior starting pitchers Felix Dieguez and Keven Long get the starting nod on the mound.
  • If the old adage "Defense wins championships" is true, the Fire should be in good shape. Southeastern averages the least amount of errors per game in the NAIA (.88).

ALL-TIME VERSUS THE MACON BRACKET:
  • The Fire have never faced Middle Georgia State nor British Columbia in program history.
  • SEU has two previous meetings with Huntington, as the two teams squared off in both the 2014 and 2015 seasons. The Fire won both contests.
  • Southeastern and Rio Grande have met five previous times, with the Red Storm holding a 3-2 advantage in the all-time series. Rio Grande handed SEU a 10-4 loss in the 2015 season before splitting a four-game series with the Fire at Ted A. Broer Stadium in 2016.
