Volleyball Shakes off Sluggish Start for Road Win

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla.—It wasn't a very pretty start, but a strong finished powered the Fire volleyball team to its second Sun Conference win of the year.

Despite falling behind in the first set 5-0, the Fire came away with a 29-27, 25-18, 25-13 win over Florida Memorial to move to 10-1 on the year.

The first set saw the Fire pick up two set points by side out to stay alive and come away with the slim victory.

Taylor Gregory and Emily Boehlein helped get the Fire going with their play at the net, each recording three blocks in the second and third sets.

Boehlein also added eight kills and Avery Bradshaw chipped in a team-best nine kills to help out the offense. Courtney Krause paved the way with a team-best 27 assists.

The Fire return to action on Saturday with a trip to West Palm Beach to take on Keiser.
