The Fire are licking their wounds after their loss to Ave Maria this last weekend, bringing their record to three wins and three losses. This week, the Fire travel to take on the Warner University Royals.
In the history of Fire football, Southeastern has never lost to Warner. The first home game at Victory Field was against the Royals, which ended in the Fire winning 31-7. This marked the first game played at Victory field, the first win at Victory field, and the first win in Fire football program history. With the Fire playing with a fresh, new team this year, the Royals are hoping to end a four year losing streak against SEU.
Bryan Bell remains the top run player for the Fire. In five games, the freshman running back has carried the ball for a total of 469 yards, averaging roughly 93 yards per game, and has rushed into the endzone for four touchdowns. Wide receiver
Antwain Adams has garnered a total of 422 yards in the pass game, scoring five touchdowns this season. At quarterback,
Ryder Litten is currently averaging 121 passing yards a game, for a total of 728 yards over the span of six games.
Defensively,
Lamont Trent continues to be the frontrunner in tackles, with 65 to his name this season, 23 of which are solo tackles.
Blade Denmark is the team leader in sacks, with four sacks this season for a total of 28 negative yards on the opponents' sides.
While the Royals have yet to win a game this year, there is no doubt that this game will spur them to play the hardest that they can. Running back Javon Wilson is sporting 221 yards, while Jeffrey Suarez has received for 298. Quarterback Andre Tommie has averaged 94 yards per game, which totals 474. The Royals' defense is led by Darryl Weaver and Leonard Faison, who have 31 and 22 tackles, respectively.
The Fire will play the Royals at Lakeland Christian at 1:30 p.m..
