The Fire picked up some momentum from Saturday's 3-1 win over No. 16 Keiser to end a streak of four losses in five games.
Nate Harmon picked up Sun Conference Pitcher of the Week honors for his complete game effort, recording 10 strikeouts.
Over the last 10 games, the Fire have posted a .296 team batting average with 16 doubles and 10 home runs, going 6-4 in that span. On the mound, the pitching staff has posted a 4.08 ERA with 100 strikeouts against 31 walks in 86 innings.
The Eagles
Sitting at 15-25, Trinity Baptist enters Tuesday's game having dropped two-of-three to Edward Waters over the weekend. Nick Lyle is the Eagles' top pitcher, having recorded 49 strikeouts in 53 innings of work. Earlier this season against Southeastern, AJ Alexio, Jeremy Rivera, and TJ Lanning each had two hits during the doubleheader.
History vs. TBC
Southeastern is 8-0 all-time against Trinity Baptist, going back to when TBC began its program in 2015. This includes a doubleheader sweep at All Saints Academy on February 7
th with the Fire winning 16-0 and 6-1. In the previous eight meetings, the Fire have outscored the Eagles 79-21.
The Warriors
The next win for Webber International will be a historic one. The Warriors have a chance to set the school record for wins in a season, set in 2013 with 35. Pitching and defense have been the keys this year, leading The Sun Conference in fielding percentage at .965, and ranking fourth in the league in team ERA at 3.44. At the plate, the Warriors have averaged a conference-high 6.91 RBIs per game.
Anthony Hunter has been the top arm on the roster, ranking third in The Sun in ERA at 2.54. The senior is 4-3 in 10 starts. In his seven conference appearances, he has struck out 23 batters, and has allowed two or fewer earned runs in four of those starts.
Christian Rivera is coming off of Sun Conference Player of the Week honors, hitting .643 last week. In a non-conference game against NCAA Division II Embry-Riddle, the sophomore drove in six runs with a 2-for-3 effort to help the Warriors win 13-6. He also went 4-for-4 with a double in the middle game of the Warner series.
History vs. WIU
Over the last four years, each team has won two series by a 2-1 count. Going back to 2010, the Fire are 13-10 against the Warriors, which includes a 2-0 mark in The Sun Conference Tournament. Webber won two of three last year in Babson Park, and the Fire had won two of three in each of the two previous seasons.
At Stake
The Fire trail Keiser for first place in The Sun Conference by a game. SEU holds a one-game lead over Webber International for second place.
Seniors
Before Saturday's doubleheader, the Fire will honor their 19 seniors. Over the last four years, the SEU baseball program has gone 157-65.
