Â
The Final year of Sun Conference play begins tonight as the Fire host their rival to the south in Warner.
Â
Southeastern will be looking to bounce back from a weather-shortened loss to NCAA Division II Albany State at Victory Field last Saturday. The Fire had a 2-0 lead at the end of the first quarter, capitalizing on an ASU miscue on special teams, but were unable to stop the Golden Rams' passing attack.
Â
Warner comes in fresh, having not played since a loss at NCAA Division I FCS Stetson. The Royals have had some success in the ground game, rushing for an average of 179 yards per contest, at 4.5 yards per carry.
Â
Southeastern has won both of the previous meetings, including a 45-9 win last year in a game played at Lakeland Christian School. The last meeting at Victory Field was in 2014, and was the first game ever at the facility.
Â
The Fire boast an all-time record of 8-2 in Sun Conference play, and are unbeaten at home in league play.
Â
Tailgating begins at Victory Field at 4 p.m. Gates open at 5:30 to the general public and 6 p.m. to students. For tickets, visit
