WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.—The second Sun Conference series of the season started with a 12-5 loss on the road to No. 15 Keiser University.
The Fire (12-7) had a hard time stringing hits together against Seahawk starter Steven Bruce, who moved to 3-0, allowing six hits in six innings, and coaxed eight groundouts.
Southeastern got on the board first on an RBI fielder's choice by
Angel Garced, and added a run on an error to take a 2-0 lead after an inning of play.
Keiser (9-5) answered with a sacrifice fly in the second and two home runs in the third to take a 4-2 lead.

Mac LeBoeuf got the Fire back within a run in the top of the fourth, reigning conference player of the year Keivan Berges made it 7-3 after four.
Chris Mattison tried to keep the guests in the game with his sixth homer of the season in the fifth, but the Seahawks scored a run in the fifth, and then added two two-run homers in the seventh and eighth.
Mattison finished the day 2-for-3 with a walk, a run scored, and two RBIs.
Luis Diaz was 2-for-5 with a run scored, and LeBoeuf was 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Cole Yoder suffered the loss, giving up eight earned runs on 10 hits, and walked five.
The two teams are back in action on Saturday with a doubleheader beginning at 11 a.m.
