LAKELAND, Fla.—The second season of Sun Conference football kicks off on Saturday night at Lakeland Christian School when the Fire take on Warner at 7 p.m.
The Royals won the very first Sun Conference football game by beating Webber International 14-10 at Legion Field in the annual "Lake Caloosa Clash." A week later, the Fire picked up its first win in program history over Warner 31-7 in front of a capacity crowd at Victory Field.

Michael Wheary, a Lakeland Christian grad, is coming off of a Sun Conference record 245 yard receiving night with a pair of touchdowns. Monday, the Youngstown State transfer was named TSC Offensive Player of the Week.
Warner enters the matchup at 2-0 with convincing wins over Concordia (Ala.) and Union College (Ky.). Last week, the Royals rolled up 414 yards of total offense in a 42-21 win over Union. On defense, the Royals picked off a pair of passes and recovered a fumble.
