Box Score DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.—The 2015 baseball season came to an end for Southeastern with a 4-2 loss to Bryan College in its second game of the NAIA National Championship Opening Round.
The Fire (38-21) took a quick 1-0 lead in the top of the first on a RBI single by Daniel Acevedo, which brought in Josiel Colon. Bryan answered right back with two runs, getting a triple on the second at bat of the first to score a run, then scored on a throwing error to take the lead 2-1.
Southeastern's bats went quiet, tallying just one hit in the third and one hit in the fifth. During that time, Bryan added a run in the third and in the fifth to take a 4-1 advantage.
In the sixth, the Fire finally strung some hits together, scoring a run on a Sean Anderson RBI single with two outs in the inning.
However, the Fire were only able to total two more hits the rest of the afternoon. Senior Clay Rideout tossed a complete game, allowing four runs on 10 hits. The Lakeland native struck out three and walked two.
Offensively, Colon and Aaron Sheaks each went 2-for-4.
