MIAMI, FLA. — Winning streaks can't go on forever in baseball. Southeastern's six-game winning streak came to a screeching half Friday night at the hands of the St. Thomas University Bobcats, falling 7-0. The Fire were able to muster only five hits for the entire contest, and fall to 17-7 overall and 6-3 in Sun Conference play.

Patrick Kinney (3-2) took the loss, as he went five innings, giving up six hits, five runs (all earned), three walks, and striking out five. Manny Matos saved the bullpen by pitching the final three innings, giving up two runs.

The Fire had nothing to offer at the plate. Marcos Barrios (2-1) of the Bobcats (15-5, 7-2 TSC) proved to be effective throughout the night, pitching seven strong innings and giving up only four hits. Cody Hoffner went 1-4 with a double, and TJ Glessner went 1-4 as well with two stolen bases. Glessner now has 16 stolen bases on the year, extending his Sun Conference lead.

Southeastern will try to salvage the series in a doubleheader tomorrow afternoon. Games are slated for 12 and 3pm at St. Thomas.
