KISSIMMEE, Fla.—During the Fire Duals, Southeastern came away with a 1-1 record during the event held at Osceola High School, earning a win over St. Andrews, and a loss to UCF.
Against UCF, the Fire won the first two bouts by decision victories by
Olson Delisca and
Ethan Owen to take a 6-0 lead in the dual. The Knights then answered with a pair of decision at 141 and 149 to tie the dual at six. After an 8-6 decision by
Tim Dinsdale and a 12-2 major decision at 165 by Zach Wood, the Fire grabbed a 12-6 lead.
At 174,
Zech Rives trailed 10-8 with 10 seconds left in the third period. The freshman scored a takedown, then two nearfall points at the horn to win the bout 12-10.
