Sydni Tew

Tew joined the Fire coaching staff in 2018.

Tew was both a field player and goalkeeper for the Southeastern women's soccer team during her four-year collegiate playing career.

In 2016, she only surrendered six goals throughout the duration of the season, the fourth fewest goals allowed in a single season by a goalkeeper in NAIA history.

In 2017, Sydni was also selected as The Sun Conference Champion of Character, while also earning the distinction of being an NAIA Champion of Character.

She also earned the distinction after her countless hours of volunteering at a local shelter in her town of residence Cape Coral during the impact of Hurricane Irma. She along with 25 other volunteers provided care and support to over 3,700 people and 400 pets.

The Nebraska native was also a member of the Southeastern tennis team during her senior season. Tew fueled the women's team to their lone Sun Conference win of the season with a three and a half hour marathon singles' match victory that earned the Fire the walk-off win versus Webber International.

During her time as a student-athlete, she was a three-time Academic All-Sun Conference placer and a two-time NAIA Daktronics Scholar-Athlete.

Sydni graduated cum laude from Southeastern in the Spring of 2018 with her B.S. in General Communications and is currently pursuing her Masters of Kinesiology at SEU.

Tew also serves as the graduate assistant for Athletic Game Operations and Facilities at Southeastern, is an intern with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, where she mentors and spiritually invests in hundreds of athletes at both the high school and collegiate level, and also serves as an assistant coach for the Lakeland High School Varsity Boys' soccer team.

Sydni was the recipient of the 2018 Steve Young Servant Leadership Award, presented to her by FCA for her coordination of the ministry's Lakeland Leadership Camp, a camp she has been involved in helping lead for the past four summers.

Tew is also heavily involved in leadership with her church, The King's Church, a Lakeland church plant where she was a part of the launch team in the Fall of 2018.

Sydni and her husband Andrew reside in Lakeland.
