Biography

JUNIOR (2025-26): Started all 32 games as the main focus of the Fire offense. Essentially, if you couldn't stop Mya Herman, you were in for a long night. She led the team with 569 points, 230 field goals made, and 83 three pointers. She put up astounding shooting percentages, 52.9 percent from the field, 44.9 percent from deep, and 78.8 percent from the charity stripe, while adding 117 rebounds (a career best), 59 assists, 82 steals, and her career's only three blocks. She scored double digits in every single game, and 20+ on 13 different occasions. Her season and career best performance came on the biggest stage of the Fire's season. In the NAIA First Round, playing the host, the 11-seed Faulkner, she willed SEU to victory with 34 points on 57.9 percent shooting and six threes. The Fire went on to win the game in overtime 87-81. Her efforts did not go unnoticed as she earned First-Team All-Sun Conference for the second consecutive season, four Sun Conference Player of the Week awards, and a spot on the Sun Conference All-Tournament as the Fire won the Sun Conference Regular Season and Tournament titles. Additionally, she was a superstar in the classroom, earning NAIA Daktronics Scholar-Athlete honors, Sun Conference All-Academic recognition, and most recently CSC Academic All-District.

SOPHOMORE (2024-25): Herman was a core part of the Fire team this season. She played a total of 916 minutes across all 31 games this season. Tallied up 391 points with 63 assists and 145 rebounds. Set a career record of 110 steals this season, which is fourth best in a single season in SEU history, and was second best in the NAIA. Scored 20+ in three different appearances, twice against Brewton-Parker, with a season high of 24. Named a part of the First-Team All-Sun Conference team. Earned Sun Conference Defensive Player of the Week three times this season. Earned NAIA Daktronics Scholar-Athlete, Sun Conference All-Academic, and CSC Academic All-District accolades. 

FRESHMAN (2023-24): 
Herman started 21 of the 29 games she played in. The Sun Conference Freshman of the Year and Second-Team All-Sun Conference tallied 293 points on 46 percent shooting. Additionally, she tallied 81 rebounds, 64 assists, and 55 steals. She scored 10+ points 15 different times, and in the Sun Conference Tournament she helped aid the Fire to the conference championship win with back-to-back 16 point games against St. Thomas and Ave Maria.

HIGH SCHOOL: All-State in 2023 and All-Greater Rochester from 2021-2023. First Team All-County from 2021-2023.

PERSONAL: Daughter of Amy and Jeremy.
