Catalina Maldonado

Maldonado makes her return to Southeastern as a graduate assistant for the SEU softball program.

Maldonado was enjoyed a illustrious four-year career as a pitcher and first baseman for Southeastern from 2013-2017.

In the pitching circle, Cat posted a 25-9 career record with a 2.36 earned run average and 112 strikeouts 237 innings pitched. At the plate, Maldonado was a career .345 hitter. She is the SEU career leader in games played (226), at-bats (696), hits (240), doubles (46), home runs (35), runs batted in (194), total bases (391), and sacrifice flies (9).

At SEU, Maldonado was three-time First Team All-Sun Conference, The 2015 Sun Conference Player of the Year, First Team NAIA All-American in 2015, two-time NFCA All-American, and an NAIA Academic All-American in 2017.

Cat was instrumental in leading the Fire to their first NAIA World Series appearance in 2016.

Prior to joining the SEU staff, Maldonado served as an assistant coach at Santa Barbara City College for two seasons.

Cat also serves as a Special Education Instructional Assistant at Summerland Elementary
