Biography

SENIOR (2025): Cunningham capped off her impressive collegiate career another excellent season for the Fire. The Sun Conference Player of the Year capped off her season batting .395, with 73 hits, 19 RBIs, 54 runs scored, and a career single season best 39 stolen bases as the leadoff batter. Finding her way on base .448 percent of the time, thanks to walking 18 times. Her top performance came against Cleary (Mich.) where she was a perfect 3-3 with two runs, two RBIs, and two stolen bases. Her performances earned her First-Team All-Sun Conference, NFCA NAIA All-Region First-Team, and NAIA Third-Team At-Large All-American. She also was impressive in the classroom, earning Sun Conference All-Academic, CSC Academic All-District, and NAIA Daktronic Scholar-Athlete.

JUNIOR (2024): The junior shortstop turned in her best season yet. Batting .440, racking a career high, team leading, and NAIA fourth best 91 hits. She started all 59 games and batted home 23 RBIs, and scored 40 runs herself. She also was excellent at baserunning, stealing 37 bases in 42 attempts. She started Sun Conference play at a blistering pace going 15-16 in the first five conference games, scoring five times with three RBIs. On nine different occasions she batted 1.000, four different times she was 4-for-4, one of which was a 6-4 win over Texas A&M San Antonio where she contributed an RBI and two runs. Her spectacular play all season long resulted in many accolades. She earned NFCA NAIA All-American, NAIA All-American, NFCA NAIA All-Region First-Team, First-Team All-Sun Conference, and a spot on the Sun Conference All-Tournament team. Her excellent play was matched by her studies in school, as she was also awarded CSC Academic All-America, CSC Academic All-District, Daktronics Scholar-Athlete and Sun Conference All-Academic.

SOPHOMORE (2023): First Team All-Sun Conference and SUN All-Tournament. Led the team in batting average for the second season in a row at .382. Started every contest at shortstop and recorded 66 hits, 17 RBI's and 37 stolen bases. Only struck out five times in 173 at bats. Fielded .956.

FRESHMAN (2022): First Team All-Sun Conference and SUN All-Tournament. Played in 55 games as the Fire's first baseman and led the team in batting average at .449. Recorded 48 hits, 14 RBI's and only struck out nine times in 107 at-bats. Was a perfect 20-20 in stolen bases. Fielded .986 with 195 putouts.

HIGH SCHOOL: All-Region junior and senior year. Best of Preps, 3x All-Region in softball (freshman, sophomore, senior) and All-State in softball (senior year). 5x State Runner Up in softball. Organized a Christmas party for the Chambliss Center (foster care service), volunteered at the YMCA Food, Fit, and Fun facility on MLK Day in 2019 & 2020, and served at the Chattanooga Area Food Bank on Saturdays. Member of the National Honors Society and Beta Club.

PERSONAL: Daughter of Ragan and John Cunningham. Cole (cousin) played football at UTC, Seth (cousin) plays football at Furman University. Favorite athletes/teams include the Atlanta Braves (Ronald Acuña Jr. and Freddie Freeman) and Serena Williams. Favorite TV show is The Blacklist, Favorite movie is Facing the Giants, Hobbies include fishing, paddle boarding, and hiking, hanging out with friends, and going to the beach.
