FRESHMAN (2025): The 2025 Sun Conference Freshman of the Year was named so for good reason. The leadoff batter notched a whopping 97 hits which is fifth in all-time SEU single season boosted a .418 batting average, driving home 51 runs, and scoring 76 himself. His .518 on base percentage aided a team best 24 stolen bases, and was helped along by 43 walks. He was named Sun Conference Player of the Week for his performance over a four game series against #25 Keiser University. Going 9-16 with five RBIs and five runs, slugging .688, and sending the Seahawks home unhappy as he walked off the Fire in game four of the series, erasing what was a 9-2 sixth inning deficit. Twelve times he notched 3+ hits, and 10 times he hit the 3+ RBI mark. Pennella turned in two five hit games, most notably against New College of Florida where he went 5-7 with three RBIs and four runs scored in a 18-10 Fire victory. The Sun Conference acknowledged his success with a Second-Team All-Sun Conference selection.
