Portlock is in his first season as an Assistant Coach for the SEU men's basketball team.

The Winter Haven native returned to Polk County after previously serving as an Assistant Coach for the Maine Maritime Academy men's basketball program for a season.

Prior to Maine Maritime, Portlock spent time on the Polk State College men's basketball staff.

Will received his first coaching opportunity at his alma mater, NCAA Division III Covenant College, where he worked as an assistant coach for a season.

As a four-year player for Covenant, Portlock appeared in 86 games and was a 48.1% career shooter.

Portlock graduated from Covenant with a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies (Education, Sports Management, Marketing).

Will was a three-year varsity boy's basketball standout at Lakeland Christian School. He is the son of Victoria and Sam Portlock.
