Sanchez enters his fourth decade of coaching, which includes stops at multiple NCAA Division I institutions.

"I am very honored to be a part of the Southeastern University family and the Lakeland community," said Sanchez. "I feel extremely blessed to be able to work with Coach Rivas-Sandoval and the entire coaching staff and players. Southeastern has a roster of talented players whom I look forward to working with."

Most recently, Sanchez was the Special Teams Coordinator and defensive backs coach at San Diego State University where he helped the Aztecs finish sixth in the FBS in pass efficiency defense at 110.25 and were fourth in interceptions with 18. He helped tutor Tariq Thompson to a third All-Mountain West season and was a member of the Jim Thorpe Award Watch List.

"Coach Sanchez has a strong desire to mold young men, mentor and develop coaches, all led by his faith and love for his players," said Rivas-Sandoval. "I have seen first-hand for the better part of two decades Coach Sanchez's love for his family, players, and institution. I have no doubt that his players will see his passion for football, while simultaneously modeling what an amazing husband and father looks like."

Sanchez has also served as the Special Teams Coordinator and worked with the offensive line, tight ends, and running backs at Sacramento State, guiding punter Mitch Lively to All-American honors. He also worked at Valparaiso University with special teams and defensive backs, helping the Crusaders achieve the top pass defense among mid-major programs, and led the Pioneer Football League in several special teams categories.

Prior to Valparaiso, Sanchez worked at another PFL member in the University of San Diego working with special teams and running backs.

Sanchez also worked with the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League as an intern working with special teams and wide receivers during the preseason.

Sanchez takes over an offense that was third in the NAIA in scoring and fourth in total yards last season.
