Lopez is in his first season as a graduate assistant coach for the SEU baseball program.

Prior to joining the Fire staff, Lopez worked as a Pitching and Strength Coach at Performance Fitness for Athletes in Claremont, California.

Lopez is a 2019 graduate of Clarke University in Dubuque, Iowa, where he was a four-year standout pitcher for the Pride. Michael was First-Team All-Heart of America Athletic Conference in 2017 and 2018, as well as the HAAC Pitcher of the Year in 2017. 

The Rancho Cucamonga, California native was also an NAIA All-American in both 2017 and 2018.

Michael is the son of Maggie and Alan Cota. He is pursuing his Masters in Business Administration at Southeastern.
